The purpose of this meeting is to bring forth up to date guidelines and best practices for providers in Pulmonary & Critical Care throughout the state of South Carolina and to close any knowledge gaps that may exist. Recently, the ATS has come out with multiple relevant clinical practice guidelines and we intend to highlight a few with expert talks such as: use of FeNO in asthma management, diagnosis and management of Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis, and management of Sarcoidosis. Being in the Coastal South, we have some of the highest rates of sarcoidosis and have a higher than average African-American population that is disproportionately affected by asthma. In addition to having higher than the national average African American population, South Carolina also has high rates of smoking. There is a disparity in lung cancer screening and by providing accurate information, we can hopefully close the screening gap. These topics will be presented amongst many others.
