Description
Resting quietly in God’s presence, praying without agenda or expectation. Our hope is to provide an atmosphere that purposefully draws you away from the distractions and responsibilities of life in order that you can replenish your heart through prayer. We will be lead by Summer Perella who has served as a missionary to China, a Christian Educator and a Hospital Chaplain. She will guide us in using Psalm 62 as a base for building our time with God in prayer. We hope you will join us and refresh your heart. Saturday, March 18, 2023 Plan to arrive at HEART between 8:30 and 9:30 am. After checking in, you can get something to drink, meet other retreaters and prepare your heart and mind for growth. At 9:45 Summer will make introductions and open our retreat by presenting us with three questions followed by time for discussion. Then you will have time to continue sharing with others, praying with a group or alone, or a creative endeavor (supplies provided). From noon to 12:30, you will share a lunch with other attendees provided by the HEART. Then after lunch, you can spend time for one-on-one prayer sessions with our leaders can be scheduled for those desiring. A guided prayer or prayer walk along the HEART prayer trail will begin at 1:30 pm. This can be a time to allow your spirit to hear from God, ruminate on his word and journal your experience. Coming together again at 4:30, we will discuss what we have experienced followed by a group meal. Dinner will be from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. You can continue your time at HEART with more reflection alone, in the classroom expressing your art or fellowshipping with others. Saturday will conclude with a Bon Fire, hot beverages and of course, s'mores. Sunday, March 19, 2023 On Sunday, we will begin our day with guided prayer from 8:30am - 9:00am. Summer will lead us through Matthew 11:28-30. Breakfast will follow beginning at 9:15; another time for fellowship and sharing. At 10:00, we will meet again for the 'Gathering of the Graces' and saying our good-byes. You can choose to depart right away or you are welcome to stay longer and continue your retreat.
