NORTH MIAMI, FL FEBRUARY 2023 — The Fashion Institute of Florida is pleased to announce that our graduating students will showcase their collections during the next 9th annual Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week, April 2-8, 2023 For immediate release. After taking several courses in all areas of the fashion industry, six students designed and completed a 3-4 look collection to be presented to all attendees, press, and media as part of their graduation as a fashion designers at the Fashion Institute of Florida. The students have been working for several months on their collections, drafting the patterns, making mock-up styles, and sewing each design piece, and we all are super excited about the designs. The students will be competing simultaneously for the opportunity to showcase an entire collection of 12-looks in the frame of NYFW Fashion Designers of Latin America this upcoming September 2023 in New York. A panel of fashion industry authorities will be judging our student's collections, including Ms. Albania Rosario, CEO of NYFW Fashion Designers of Latin America, and Mr. Elan Savir, President of Elan International; Ms. Viviana Gabeiras, head designer of Petit Pois, along with other local fashion industry icons. Together they will choose a winner based on creativity, execution, and overall harmony of the collection. The festivities will begin at 5.30 pm with an opening reception where attendees can interact and closely watch some of the student's work, take pictures, and mingle. Then, at 7 pm, attendees can move to Floridian Ballroom for the graduation ceremony and fashion show, including a speech from one of our graduating students and our school president, Ms. D'Oleo-Schwartz. The event will conclude with a runway show where the students will show their designs on professional runway models on a 50 foot long catwalk and the selection of a student as the winner.
