Description
Maryland is now the 20th state to legalize cannabis. As a new, lucrative industry is launched in the state, a critical question is what kind of jobs will it create? States with robust, established markets are reporting billions of dollars in cannabis sales per year. The jobs created in Maryland must share this prosperity as broadly as possible, giving people quality jobs that create economic stability and opportunity for themselves, their families and their communities. This town hall will explore the perspectives of different stakeholders, from community to workers to business owners, and why they believe in the importance of good jobs as a way to create greater social equity in the cannabis industry, empowering individuals and communities most harmed by decades of prohibition.
