Women Who Explore Salem/Eugene has a goal to accomplish the Corvallis to the Sea trail, 65 miles in total, during 2023! Join us to hike the second section from Old Peak Road to the Lower North Ridge Trail, about 10 miles. This section will include hiking along Old Peak Road, Woods Creek Road, passing Mary’s Park, and hiking to the highest point on the C2C trail at 1,780 ft! We are planning to hike in and shuttle out from the LNRT junction. LIABILITY WAIVER: Friendly reminder that it is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your first Women Who Explore event. In order to comply with these guidelines, each member attending the event will be required to register through Eventbrite. In the event you successfully register, and then are unable to attend, please release the ticket so that another member may attend. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Beth Lord directly! TRAIL PERMITS (IF NEEDED): permits are not needed for this section. PARKING PASS: parking pass is not required, downtown Corvallis offers free street/lot parking on Sundays (no time limit). TRAILHEAD DIRECTIONS: Please park in/near downtown Corvallis, we will be meeting outside of the Wild Yeast Bakery at 10:00 AM. WHAT TO BRING: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/ten-essentials.html • Pack your full supply of water for the day. • Pack snacks & a light meal. • Dress warm & in layers. Consider wearing a base layer & bringing an extra. • Warm gloves & hat • Rain coat top layer • Shoes with good traction • A light backpack to put layers in as you shed them • Handwarmers & toe warmers (optional) • Headlamp or flashlight • Personal COVID hygiene kit ** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified. This is a casual get together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us. Questions?
