Get ready to move! Latin dancing returns to the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. Following on the heels of the Center’s much-beloved dance series Sabado de Salsa, Pompano’s newest participatory dance program will be kicking off in October. Presented by renowned Latin dancer and instructor Alex Bezianis of Poppin’ Events, Baila Pompano will include salsa, bachata, and other Latin dances, with each event including a one-hour dance class, a live band, a DJ, and performances by professional dancers. At the conclusion of the lesson portion, participants will have the opportunity to put their new knowledge to good use, while enjoying music provided by some of South Florida’s best musicians. Patrons will also be inspired by professional dancers who will perform throughout the event. Attendees will have plenty of room to sway and spin, as the cabaret seating will be set with a cap of 250 people. Each presentation will engage and elevate both beginners and seasoned dancers alike. Tickets include a drink ticket. March 4th will feature music by Kelvy Jai Kelvy Jai is a Latin musician from the Dominican Republic. He started young as part of the choir of the San Simon Apóstol church where he won first place in his first singing contest. He later became part of different Merengue bands such as Anibal Bravo, Monchy Capricho, Alex Bueno, Ramon Orlando, CocoBand, Big Swing among others. He was fortunate enough to meet Francisco Hernandez who became his partner in the development of the Blanco y Negro orchestra where Kelvy Jai was the lead singer. In 2010, Kelvy Jai , participated in the singing contest at Una Estrella para el Festival Presidente (A Star for the President Festival) and qualified as one of the 10 finalists out of more than 150 thousand auditions. In 2011, Kelvy decided to pursue his dream of traveling to Miami to continue his music career in hopes of working with various international artists and seek to become a solo artist. In Miami he met his current producers Mayinbito Palma and Jay D Amante, who were the creators behind his first production of bachata music. Kelvy Jai released his first single as a solo artist at the end of 2017 titled Me Olvidare De Ti. The single and the video clip achieved attention from fans and popular artists such as Cuban artist, El Chacal who then went on to produce a remix version of the single.
