Join us in supporting Beacon a Solution for People in Poverty and Save a Child's Heart through Concert for a Cause, hosted by Tau Epsilon Phi and Theta Phi Alpha. Other sponsors include StandWithUs and Gables Bagels. This joint philanthropy event features a concert located in The Atrium at Kilroy's Sports, featuring DJ Jaden Katz @jkatzdj! All proceeds will go towards the following organizations: Beacon Inc. (formerly called the Shalom Center). This organization is an all-inclusive resource center for the homeless community here in Bloomington. It provides essential resources such as daily hot meals, rehousing programs, crisis casework, job counseling, laundry & shower services, and basic supplies like clothing. It serves thousands of people each year, and 96% percent of guests have incomes at or below 30% of the area median income (AMI), which is considered extreme poverty. Save a Child's Heart, based out of Holon, Israel, is an international non-profit organization with the mission of improving the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children in developing countries and creating centers of surgical competence in these countries. Its goal is to improve the health and welfare of all children, regardless of the child's religion, gender or nationality. Since being founded in 1996, SACH has performed over 5700 surgeries in 62 countries, while training doctors from these regions and housing the children.
