Are you interested in learning the basics of meditation to bring relaxation to both body and mind? Join Susan Short at Zen Yoga & Meditation for a beginner meditation workshop to learn mindfulness meditation. A brief overview of this meditation will be shared before we begin. Susan will offer gentle prompts throughout the practice to keep our attention focused on our breath. When we practice mindfulness meditation, we strengthen the connection between our mind and breath – fully inhabiting the present moment. This strengthens our ability to be more fully present in daily life, it helps anxiety, and enables us to relax both body and mind. Time permitting, Susan will lead us through the practice of Metta Meditation/Loving kindness Meditation.
Susan has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, and she completed a year-long deep study in Meditation Teacher Training. She continues to study at Touching Earth Mindfulness Center in Chicago. Please register in advance. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or pillow to sit on.
