Description
Community Constellations are immersive experiential workshops facilitated by Licensed Therapist & local community organizer, Chelsea Green, owner of Anu Beginning Therapy. These groups are inspired by the therapeutic modality, Family Constellations, or Systemic Constellations, and can be helpful in offering a new perspective on events or aspects of our lives that have previously felt too close, too uncomfortable, or too overwhelming to look at. When we are too close to a situation, we can't see it clearly. During a constellation session, we get to see what someone else would do in our shoes -- and this experience alone can help us shift our perspectives on longheld beliefs or relationship dynamics. This event will take place at on Thursday, March 2nd, from 6pm to 7:30pm at The Schoolhouse Offices, Conference Room, 720 Magnolia Rd, Charleston, SC. Seating options will be provided. Thank you to Sanctuary Yoga for hosting this event at The Schoolhouse. We appreciate you! What is it like to participate in a constellation? Constellation sessions begin with a brief introduction and mindfulness meditation to get grounded in our bodies. This is followed by a brief conversation between facilitator and one group member who volunteers to be the 'identified client' for that session. During this conversation, the facilitator seeks to understand the client's intention for the session. Once the facilitator has gathered enough information to begin, the client is invited to choose representatives for the family members or entities that are relevant to the situation. This sometimes looks like the client asking participants from the group to stand in and represent different members of their family/system. What begins to develop is an external representation of the client's family or other system. From this start, what was previously an internal image begins to draw out insights for the client and the group. As the Constellation progresses, new insights and information may emerge while the facilitator guides the representatives to explore different areas of the client's system. These sessions typically come to a resolution by finding the constellation or shape that restores order, a sense of safety, love, strength, or gratitude within the client and other group members. We come to Community Constellations not to gain more knowledge, but to have an experience that - if we're willing - can change us for the better. Tickets are always free, but spots are limited!
