When: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. CST/CDT - Thursday, March 2, 2023 Where: Native Nations Event Center, Room 233 in Copeland Hall - Norman Campus Join panelist Haley Case-Scott, Policy Assistant for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s (OSTP) Climate and Environment Team in conjunction with the Native Nations Center at OU for the “Native American & Indigenous Youth Conference” panel. This is an open forum/discussion circle type event that seeks to engage the input and insight of Native/Indigenous students primarily between the ages of 16 through 24. The hope of this is to elicit discussion and feedback from this generation of future leaders in our Native communities that will offer “guidance for federal agencies on Indigenous knowledge.” The desired outcome is that this will have a positive impact on the following: Provide an understanding of Indigenous Knowledge; enable the growing and maintaining of relationships with Tribal Nations and Indigenous Peoples; promote the consideration, inclusion, and application of Indigenous Knowledge in current and future federal research, policymaking, management, & decision making.
