HAS YOUR LIFE BEEN TOUCHED BY SUICIDE? "On this 100 mile walk across the salt flats, and Utah's West Desert, we got more than sore legs and feet, blisters and sunburns. So much more. We learn we can do hard things. Things that seem impossible to one can be conquered together. We learn that pain is only for but a minute. We learn that everyone has a story, but that we are the authors and we determine how our story goes. We learn that family isn't just blood. We are people who love each other despite our flaws and imperfections, who are more interested in where we are going then where we have been. We learn to treasure what makes us unique. We learn from the love of father's, mother's, wive's, aunt's, uncle's, sybling's and friends. We are moved by the love of a child for their parent. We learn from those who have lived it, and those who have walked it, even those who were brought into our path along the way. We learn to find beauty in diversity. We began to see possibilities where others claim impossibility. We found that with sharing comes healing. We found that in lifting others we gain stength. We found that the road of life is long, and at times you can grow weary and want to give up. We realize the sense of accomplishment that comes when crossing the finish line. We found that its the relationships in this life that matter. Part of my story is written in your ink. We are better from the experience, wiser from what we have learned, and ready for the challenges that lie ahead. I mean we will have walked 100 miles in the desert, and we can do anything." - Jon Gossett This walk is a relay of sorts. We walk 5 mile segments, you can walk as little or as much as you wish with your group and bus. We have Sheriff Vehicles in front, and tour buses behind for protection. The buses leapfrog eachother as we make our way. We will meet at Tooele City Hall for the launch Friday Morning. There will you be touched by guest speakers who understand why you are here. Then we walk right out the front doors of city hall and start our life changing journey. At the end of day one we will have made it to Knolls. There the buses will return us to city hall for a good nights sleep. Saturday morning we will meet again at city hall and the buses will take us to where we left off the night before. Then we will begin our final leg of this life altering adventure. When we arrive in Wendover we will be met with a police escort to the infamous "Wendover Will" for a photo op, before checking into our hotel rooms. You will have the opportunity to clean up and eat quickly before the main event, our after party. Buses will transport you to the venue, and you will be entertained. Following the party the buses will take you to the hotel, and Sunday morning at 11am, they will be waiting to trasport you home to City Hall. You will have become one of the few who can honestly say you accomplished this feat. FRIDAY 28th APRIL 6am - TOOELE CITY HALL - 6-7pm return to TOOELE CITY HALL SATURDAY 29th APRIL 6AM - TOOELE CITY HALL - 4-5PM arrive in WENDOVER, NV SUNDAY 30th APRIL 11am - BOARD BUSED - 12:30-1PM ARRIVE AT TOOELE CITY HALL *REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS* ***Cost of registration covers - Tour Buses, T Shirts, snack and drinks, lunches both days, Sheriff's, Guest Speakers, hotel room, and epic after party. Your registration fee doesn't even cover the cost of all this. That is why we require you to raise pledges for your walk in the amount of $500 to be eligible to go on this journey. It is much easier to do than it sounds. In all the years of doing this incredible walk, we have never had someone who wished they hadn't participated.
