Description
In collaboration with The Marine Mammal Center, Watsonville Wetlands Watch, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Regeneración, and Marine Life Studies, we are excited to invite you to engage with nature and assist in a Watsonville Wetlands Watch restoration project. After some time working as a team to improve the health of the slough, you will then have the opportunity to explore more about the connection between wetlands and marine mammals as well as learn about various environmental organizations and their work. We hope you leave this event feeling more connected to the nature in your community, and gain new insight about what you can do to improve the health of waterways. We will be providing some snacks, but you are welcome to bring your own if you would like. We also want to offer you the opportunity to enjoy lunch with us after the event ends at noon, but we will have to-go options available if you want to take the lunch and head out after the event concludes. We are happy to sign off any community service forms you may have for school since you will be helping our teams protect this important ecosystem! NOTE: One of our goals for this event is to focus on the Watsonville community, so 20 of the 25 event spots are reserved for youth from Watsonville. If you are not from Watsonville, we will place you on the waiting list and notify you if spaces become available! This event will use both English and Spanish.
