While this style of wine is starting to grow in popularity across the country, it is still a largely misunderstood category and can represent many different grapes and styles. In general, these wines are produced by small producers, sourced from sustainable and often organic vineyards, and made using native yeasts with no additives and little to no sulfites. This produces often very "wild", unfiltered wines that have a lot in common with wild ales and kombucha. This class will be an introduction to several delicious and unique wines in the natural wine category, as well as an opportunity to experience the some of the range of what natural wines can be.
