A highly respected scholar, public intellectual and author, Rev. Dr. Serene Jones serves as the President of Union Theological Seminary in New York. She will be the Charles R. Willard, Jr. Lecturer on March 26 in a program entitled, “Trauma and Grace.” [bio]
In her talk President Jones will unpack years of observations about trauma and the ways it resides in our bodies, trapping us in the past. Her personal experiences have revealed that as stories are told, the grace and love of God interrupt lives with the capacity to create a new path.
In the second half of the program, Dr. Justin Johnson, board-certified psychiatrist at HopeWay in Charlotte will join her for conversation. Dr. Johnson has expertise in mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, men’s mental health, complex medical-psychiatric disorders, and psychotherapy. Free childcare for ages 8 and under is being offered until March 22. Sign up on your ticket order.
