Most people knowingly or unknowingly have drank a "blended" wine. By "blended", we mean a wine comprised of more than one grape varietal.
This event will take you on a journey to explore some of the most popular blends, with the hope that you walk away with a better understanding of why grape varietal blends are powerful and pleasing to the palate.
Join me as we will be tasting 7 wines from around the World, but primarily with a focus on two comparisons of Old World and New World wines of the same grape varietal blends: Bordeaux and Rhone.
Wines to be tasted:
1 - Old World Bordeaux blend: 2015 Chateau Cantemerle (to compare with)....
2 - New World Bordeaux blend: 2018 Beaulieu Vineyard Reserve Tapestry
3 - Old World Rhone blend: 2018 Commanderie Des Hospitaliers(to compare with)....
4 - New World Rhone blend: 2019 Tablas Creek Patelin de Tablas Rouge
5 - Super-Tuscan blend: 2019 Argentiera Villa Donoratico Bolgheri
