The Ocean State’s Strongest Man 7 (Strongman Corp. membership REQUIRED of all competitors, and will be available at the show) Promoter: Corey Benton Contact Info: [email protected] Date/Time Saturday June 17, 2023 , 10::00 am Location: The Top Strength Project 404 Walcott St. Pawtucket RI 02860 $10 spectator fee Weigh ins: Friday 5-7pm, Saturday 8-9:15 at The Top Strength Project Rules/start time: Rules will be at 9:30, start time 10:00 Entry fee: $80 Divisions: Women Novice <140 and 140+ Open <125.4, 125.5-140.4, 140.5-160.4, 160.5-180.4, 180.5+ Men Novice <231.4 and 231.5 Open <175.4, 175.5-200.4, 200.5-231.4, 231.5-265.4, 265+ Events: Log press for reps (heavier log/lighter log) Last man standing deadlift Farmer carry for time Husafell carry for max distance Firetruck pull Awards: If there is only 1 athlete in a class, they will get combined with another class or just get a regionals bid (we will leave combining of classes up to the promoter). If there are 2-5 athletes a class: 1st place - Nationals and Regionals (2023) invites 2nd - Regionals (2023) 3rd - Regionals (2023) If there are 6+ athletes in a class: 1st - Nationals and Regionals (2023) 2nd - Nationals and Regionals (2023) 3rd - Regionals (2023) 4th - Regionals (2023) Events: 1) Log clean and press, heavier/lighter log for reps: Athlete will have the option of which log they attempt heavier/lighter. Heavier log will be worth 2 points per rep and lighter log worth 1 point per rep. It DOES NOT matter which log is attempted. The 60 seconds is yours to choose how you use it. If an attempt is missed with one, the athlete IS allowed to switch to other log to attempt a rep. Athlete must clean and press implement overhead and wait for the down command. Athlete can choose which log to start with. 60 second time limit. Max reps. Clean each rep. Completed press is arms locked out, feet together, head through, wait for down command. Must maintain control of log on the way down. DO NOT THROW LOG. WILL BE A 0 for rep. Score is based off TOTAL POINTS, not amount of times each log is pressed. Any press technique OK. Cannot rest log on head. 10” log for women, 12” log for men. Down command. Straps, sleeves ok. NO SUITS. Lifts will be with deadlift bars. Athlete has to attempt each weight. Miss an attempt and you’re out. 25 lbs jumps for women 50 lbs jumps for men. 30 second time limit to complete lift. Athletes will be given time to strap in. Starting weights: Women: <140.4 Novice: 185 140.5+ Novice: 245 <125.4: 200 125.5-140.4: 185 140.5-160.4: 245 160.5-180.4: 245 180.5+: 295 Men: <231.4 Novice: 315 231.5+ NOVICE: 495 <175.4: 405 175.5-200.4: 405 200.5-231.4: 495 231.5-265.4: 495 265.5+: 545 3) Farmer Carry for time: Athlete will pick up farmers behind line and carry 40’ to the other side. Once the FRONT of the implement crosses the line the time stops. Multiple drops allowed. 60 second time limit. Belts, sleeves, wrist WRAPS ok. No wrist straps, tacky. Pick height will be 18”. Women: <140.4 Novice: 135 140.5+ Novice: 155 <125.4: 135 125.5-140.4: 155 140.5-160.4: 165 160.5-180.4: 165 180.5+: 170 Men: <231.4 NOVICE: 245 231.5+ NOVICE: 305 <175.4: 245 175.5-200.4: 275 200.5-231.4 :305 231.5-265.4: 305 265.5+: 335 4) Husafell Stone carry for distance: Athlete will pick stone up from the ground behind the line. 30 second time limit to pick up/begin moving. Drops are allowed BEHIND the line within the 30 second time limit. Once an athlete goes PAST the line and they drop the stone, that is where the marker ends. Turns will be at 40 feet. Only one part of your foot has to touch/cross the line to continue back the other side. Judge will call when you can turn. Belts/sleeves/gloves OK. NO TACKY. Yes, it needs to be said. Strength shop USA harness with rope secured at other side. Pretty self explanatory. It’s a fire truck. It’s heavy. Women will be using smaller truck. Open Men approx 35,000-40,000. Novice men and women approx 20,000-25,000. 265+ men will be greeted with a surprise once their class begins!!
