Description
Join us for a very special ReWild Your Child Climbing Clinic at Garden of The Gods sponsored by RSM as part of the Always Choose Adventures ReWild Your Child Program. Our ACA ReWild Your Child Ambassador, Megan Mason is our volunteer for the day. Our partners, Front Range Climbing Company and their certified climbing instructors know the best routes around the mountains of the west and the southwest. This clinic will teach children the basics rock climbing skills, including equipment, knots, belaying, descending, and climbing movement. Front Range Climbing Company will provide all of the technical climbing gear you need for your trip such as a harness, helmet, and shoes. Other technical gear required for the trip will also be provided by Front Range Climbing Company. If you have your own harness, helmet, and/or shoes, and would like to use them, please let your guide know prior to the trip. Your guide inspects your gear at the start of the trip to determine if they would rather you use company provided equipment for the trip. COST: This is a FREE event, sponsored by RSM as part of Always Choose Adventures ReWild Your Child Program. Participants must be paid ACA members. Not an official PAID ACA Member? Register now at https://www.alwayschooseadventures.org/join Details: We will send detailed meeting instructions and details prior to event date to registered participants. What to BringWater FRCC highly recommends bringing 2 quarts (2-3 liters) of water.Food (snacks/lunch) Along with the water, keeping your body fueled throughout your trip will let you focus on climbing and not you:r stomach. Food a simple as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to high-tech energy bars will keep you going throughout your trip.Small backpack: A small backpack allows you to carry your food, water, and other items you need for the day. A backpack versus a handbag lets you freely use your hands while moving around the climbing areas.Sneakers/Approach Shoes/Chaco Sandals ™: Most of the climbing areas require a slight hike from the parking area to reach your climbs. FRCC suggests a pair of sturdy sneakers, approach shoes, or Chacos™ to safely get you to the climbs. You can call our office or ask your guide if your footwear is appropriate for your climbing destination.Sunscreen: The sun can be intense at all of our climbing locations. FRCC recommends bringing sunscreen to prevent sunburns and other potential sun related issues.Sunglasses [optional]: Sunglasses help protect your eyes from the sun throughout the day.Camera [optional]: Pictures help you remember your trip. If you have a camera, bring it along and snap away.Rain jacket: Summer thunderstorms can occur at any time in Colorado. A light rain jacket will keep you dry in the event of rain. Please bring CASH to tip your guide. TIP is not included in your membership fees or donation. Your Guide & ACA - Thank you!
