Women in Facilities Management Panel We will hear from a group of women about their career path and experiences in facilities management. We will have some questions but come with your own as well. Program Schedule 11:30am-12pm – Registration & Lunch 12pm-12:55pm – Panel Panelists include: Crystal Stegeman, Wichita State UniversityAlexis Fletcher, CargillMary Huber, HeartspringDebra Shoffner, Cargill12:55-1pm – Closing Remarks Joel Eslea, Curo Financial and IFMA Wichita President-Elect, will moderate the panel. PANELISTS BIOS BELOW PANELIST BIO CRYSTAL STEGEMAN (PICTURED ABOVE) Crystal Stegeman is the Property Manager for Wichita State University. Her current responsibilities include oversight of approximately 75 leases involving Wichita State and its affiliates, along with assisting related building, risk management, billing and escalated issues. Crystal has worked at WSU since 2015 and became the Property Manager in 2017. Prior to WSU, she worked for six years at Sedgwick County as the Property and Lease Contract Specialist in Project Services, and as the Facilities Contract Specialist at COMCARE. She also worked at the City of Wichita as an administrative aide in the Property Management division. She is actively involved with IFMA and serves as the secretary of the Wichita chapter. She has obtained her IFMA FMP certification and was also recently recognized as the 2022 Facility Manager of the Year for the local chapter. Crystal is married and has two adult children. She enjoys spending time outdoors in the country, camping with her husband, and also describes herself as an amateur rancher with horses and cows. PANELIST BIO ALEXIS FLETCHER (PICTURED ABOVE) Alexis Fletcher is the Hospitality & Facility Services Supervisor at the Cargill Protein Headquarters. A WSU graduate with a degree in Health Services Management and Community Development, who stumbled on an Administrative position at the Cargill Innovation Center nearly 7 years ago. Having a passion for helping others, in her role she supported the building and enjoyed cultivating relationships with service providers. Alexis was recruited to the Facilities team in 2021 where she lead the Future Workforce Committee and co-lead safety and emergency management teams. Since then Alexis has been recognized as a Protein Promise nominee and received the 2022 Hard Charger award for the Facilities team. Alexis has been an IFMA member since 2022, received her FMP certificate last March and is currently studying for her SFP credential. She is a busy mother of 4, who enjoys being a cheer mom of a K-State cheerleader and cub scout leader. In her free time she loves roller skating, planning events and binge watching Breaking Bad. PANELIST BIO MARY HUBER (PICTURED ABOVE) Mary Huber has been the Director of Facility Services at Heartspring since 2018. She is passionate about helping people and working in an environment that she can impact others in a positive way. As the Director of Facility Services, she understands how the work environment can impact staff morale, client learning, and public perception of the organization. Her goal is to provide quality facilities for the clients and families we serve and a comfortable and safe work environment for staff. She has been a member of IFMA Wichita since 2021 after receiving her FMP credential. Originally from Iowa, Mary graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Production and Operations Management. In her free time, Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and crafting. PANELIST BIO DEBRA SHOFFNER (PICTURED ABOVE) Debra Shoffner is the Facility Coordinator for Cargill Protein Headquarters. Deb has worked with service providers from HVAC to plumbing to window blinds. The last five years, Deb’s main responsibilities is maintaining the 985 Seats in the new HQ building. Coordinates people moves to nameplates to maintaining all the keys to every cabinet and door in the building. Deb has worked for Cargill since May 1993. First 11 years was in IT then moved to Rendering Operations then the next 11 years with Engineering and finally to Facility Management in 2010. Deb likes Facility Management because in this role, it’s a new day every day. She thrives on changes, challenges and most importantly…helping people. Deb has actively been involved with IFMA for five years and serves on the Program Committee. Deb enjoys spending time with her two grandsons, Rowan who is 5 and brother Calum who is 16 months old. Grandchild number three will arrive end of March and the boys do not know if they will have another brother or sister.
