Description
Join Compass Point home of Dirty Girl Adventures for a Beginner's Backpacking Adventure! This adventure is a great first outing for a novice backpacker; short distance, one night, fully supported and plenty of time to learn and practice! It's also a great outing for an experienced backpacker; time to try new gear, hang out with friends and get ready for future backpacking adventures! We will be on the George Latham Trail at Clinton Lake for approximately 4 miles. The George Latham Trail meanders through forest, open fields and along the shoreline and returns to the trail head. Beaver, coyote and white-tailed deer are commonly observed in the area. Also, waterfowl can be seen in the arms of the lake during certain seasons. Chestnut oak, black walnut, eastern red cedar, hackberry, and sumac trees are the most common trees making up the forest. We will provide a gear list in advance and then we'll be there with you for the adventure to provide any support that you might need. We will provide a water filter and a GREAT time on the trail! WHEN: Saturday March 18th check in time 1:30pm - we should be off trail by mid day Sunday March 19th.
