Description
Audience: Community-Based Organizations, School Psychologists, School Counselors, Mental Health Clinicians, College Mental Health Teams, Administrators, and other professionals working in the field of mental health and behavioral health services serving K-14. This conference will bring together community-based partners specifically focusing on the mental and emotional well-being of students to overcome the barriers that each respective agency faces due to their own professional roles. This conference will further cross-educate respective providers about the mental health challenges for the K-14 population we serve. Speaker: Dr. Joelle Hood Overview: Participants in this engaging series will walk away with research-based practices that they can use immediately -- first with themselves, and then with their students to reduce stress and anxiety, improve attention and performance, and strengthen overall physical and psychological well-being. This transformational learning session provides an easy framework to give participants simple yet powerful strategies to boost their own well-being and resilience as well as how to explicitly model and teach these skills to students. Background: As a former "Teacher of the Year" and "Principal of the Year", Dr. Joelle Hood brings passion, energy, and expertise to empower all humans to thrive. As co-founder and Chief Empowerment Officer at Thriving YOUniversity, she uses her knowledge and expertise in organizational change and leadership, along with her experience as a mindfulness instructor and life coach, to provide researched-based keynotes, coaching, and experiential learning workshops to individuals and organizations throughout the nation. Her areas of passion and expertise include: Social, Emotional & Academic Learning, Leadership, Applied Educational Neuroscience, Mindfulness, The Science of Belonging & Human Connection, Mindset, Restorative Practices, Employee Engagement, Trust and Team-building, Trauma Responsive Practices, and Resilience.
