GraceSigns is an educational nonprofit creating free sign language and reading apps for mobile devices. Founded in 2013, the inspiration stemmed from parent and special needs advocate Valerie Carter, whose daughter Grace has Down syndrome and Apraxia. Communication was a big challenge until they stumbled on sign language and finally and happily they could begin to understand each other. Carter began creating fun and easy applications featuring individuals with and without disabilities- focusing on acceptance and inclusion of all. Currently there are three apps available on Apple and Google Devices: Sign Me Story, Sign Me ABCs and Sign Me a Sentence, all are completely free, with no in-app purchase, no ads and no internet access.
GraceSigns is seeking creative input from volunteers to join as:
singer(s)
songwriter
musicians
artist
software engineer
(all of whom can work remotely)
All GraceSigns apps feature the successful formula of incorporating four modes of learning: touch, hearing, reading and signing through videos, verbiage, music, art and gaming.
Over 1 million downloads in over 176 countries.
Help us to continue bringing these valuable apps to everyone by joining our fundraiser and short evening of fun and prizes!
