Our 2023 Legislator Education Forum, Opportunities for Our Youngest Learners: Advancing Equity & Access in Early Childhood Education & Care, will feature a presentation by experts Dr. Dan Wuori, Senior Director of Early Learning at The Hunt Institute, and Linda K. Smith, Director of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Early Childhood Development Initiative, a panel discussion and Q&A, and a conversation with leaders from Illinois state government and local practitioners about developing equitable early childhood systems.

During the forum, leaders will also reexamine findings from the state’s Commission on Equitable Early Childhood Education and Care Funding and discuss the progress made toward achieving its recommendations within today’s political and policy environment
Participants will leave this year’s event with a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities states face in designing equitable early childhood systems, the current early childhood education and care landscape in Illinois and what is being done to make it more equitable along with key considerations for state policymakers working to expand access in this space.
