Hello, my name is Maddux Eckerling (He/Him). I am a senior at Ghidotti Early College High School. As an LGBTQ+ Youth person in Nevada County, my senior project is focused on educating the adults in our community on what it's like to be an LGBTQ+ youth in our community, and how they can support us. To do this, I am launching a project called Strength in Pride. I will be hosting an event on March 23rd at the Miners Foundry. This event will be a panel of LGBTQ+ youth in our community. The focus of the panel will be to first enlighten the community on our struggles as LGBTQ+ youth, but to then open up the conversation and answer the audiences burning questions about our experiences, and how they/you can best support us.
