Last year, 4 prizes were awarded to the most creative Ecolution runway couture fashions, courtesy of Lab-Grown Diamonds by Caesar’s Designs Fine Jewelry Creations. This year's featured designers include: Christine Bethea, Terry Boyd, Claudia Brownlee, Brian David, Nicoll-Hernandez, Glendon Hyde, Anika Ignozzi, Darrell Kinsel, Michael Nolan Kouri, Mossy Lane, Randal Miller Virginia, Bradford Mumpower, Lana Newmeyer, Karen Page, Suz Pisano, Pearlann Porter, Charlotte Reichman, and Brandy Wank Performances by DJ Soy Sos and a Special Dance Choreographed Performance by Kyle Abraham. Graphic Design and Event Production by Acrobatique Creative. This one-of-a-kind eco-fashion show and sustainability soiree will feature models from Docherty Talent & Modeling Agency who will grace the runway, donning hand-crafted fashion designs that local artists and students design and create utilizing reused and recycled materials. Four winners of the most creative design will take home a cash prize. Ecolution invites designers and artists to create wearable fashion through the use of sustainable, recyclable, and organic materials. These stellar environmentally savvy ensembles address the environmental issues facing our planet. The most challenging times can bring about the most creative moments! The fashion show will be curated on the runway by the masterful Richard Parsakian, with hairstyles and makeup for the show designed by Izzazu Salon, Spa & Serata. Guests can sip on a special Earth Day Signature Cocktail while dancing to the sounds of a local DJ with special dance performances. A special VIP reception will be held in the Carnegie Museum Hall of Architecture from 6-7:30 p.m. VIP, General Admission, and Student tickets are on sale now. A cash bar will be available. This annual event features a runway fashion show that highlights recycled and reused materials designed exclusively for Pittsburgh Earth Day. Local designers share their creations accompanied by local music performances. Guests celebrate with plant-forward hors d'eoeuvres and a signature cocktail featuring Finlandia Vodka created by lifestyle blogger and founder of the Co Le Journal, Coraliz Leilani. Last year’s Ecolution Fashion Gala titled, “Earth Matters Now: For The World We Dream Of & The World We Have Now” was co-emceed by the Green Voice's Natalie Bencivenga and Brian Siewiorek and hosted by Elista from Star 100.7! The Ecolution Artist Showcase featured artist Randie Snow who showcased her stunning art pieces including the "Dance Unveiled" and the "Dance Trussed." “This must-see fashion show is an eclectic mix of Pittsburgh artists working together to continue the awareness and practice of sustainability.
