Join us for the APA's third in a series of parent education events designed to promote continued collaboration between families, the school, and the community. These events are aimed to provide valuable ideas and insights that will aid in your child's total well-being. Schedule of Events 5:30-6:00 Networking and refreshments (Advent Music Room) 6:00-7:00 Discussion led by Stephanie R. Yates, PhD Dr. Yates is the Endowed Professor and Director of the Regions Institute for Financial Education at the Collat School of Business. In that role, she not only conducts extensive research and teaching, but is also actively involved in building, growing, and maintaining the UAB Regions Institute for Financial Education. This Institute aims to serve as a model for financial research and education in the Southeast and beyond. It provides year-round financial programs and services for the UAB community and beyond and hosts an annual Personal Finance Research Symposium each spring. You can read more about Dr. Yates here We are excited to host Dr. Yates in our final parent education night of the year. She will discuss an overall framework for teaching financial literacy to children, answer important questions such as when to introduce certain accounts, and provide proven tools and resources parents can use with their kids. Childcare for Advent students will also be available here at school and pizza will be provided for students whose parents are attending the event. You must register at least 48 hours prior to the start of the event if you would like your student to stay in extended after school care.
