Discover the power of Kintsugi artwork in beautiful Beacon, NY. In the ancient art of Kintsugi, broken pottery pieces are sealed back together with gold — making damaged objects stronger than they were before. At this small group workshop, licensed art therapist Tara DeLuca will guide you as you create your own Kintsugi piece. You'll connect with a unique ceramic vase (handmade by Tara), break it, and choose the way you'll decorate and repair the pieces. The process is therapeutic for many, as it forces you to confront symbolic "damage" and find beauty in the imperfect. After a brief lesson from Tara, you'll get to work making your own design, with hands-on guidance when you need it. We'll have a variety of paints to decorate your vase, including gold paint to highlight the cracks in your vase. (Sorry, no real gold this time...but it's just as beautiful!) All guests will receive a 15% discount to shop at Witch Hazel after the event. Note: A minimum of 7 guests are needed to hold this workshop. If we don't receive 7 sign-ups by 3/28/23, we will unfortunately need to cancel, and we will refund your ticket price. Thanks for understanding! _____________________ FAQ What if I'm not an artist? No prior art experience is needed...and we believe everyone's an artist, anyway. Come as you are. Everyone's welcome. Do I need to wear specific clothes or bring anything else for the class? No. Just be comfortable, and perhaps wear clothing/shoes you wouldn't mind getting paint on. (It's VERY unlikely you will get paint on your outfit, but accidents happen.) Where do I go for the class? Come to Witch Hazel at 176 Main Street in Beacon, NY, and enter through the shop's front door. It's to the left of the store window. If you like, pop by a few minutes early to get settled. Do I get to take my Kintsugi vase home? Yes! What happens if I purchase a ticket but can't attend? Because we're a small business and have to order supplies in advance, we unfortunately can't offer refunds within 48 hours of the event. The class size is limited to 8 guests, which means personalized assistance, space to discuss your thoughts on the process, and plenty of room to get creative. See you soon!
