Did you know...?75% of health care expenditures go for the treatment of chronic diseases that are exacerbated by stress, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and cancer. Besides having a harmful effect on our physiology, living with chronic stress can affect our relationships, our eating and sleeping habits and our ability to relax when we're not under stress. In this workshop we'll explore: • simple techniques to help recognize and resist stress triggers • gentle movements to release muscular and myofascial stress • shut down the fight, flight, or freeze response before it takes hold • calm and soothe the nervous system • cultivate resilience to recover quickly from stressful events .• simple techniques to help recognize and resist stress triggers • gentle movements to release muscular and myofascial stress • shut down the fight, flight, or freeze response before it takes hold • calm and soothe the nervous system • cultivate resilience to recover quickly from stressful event Wear loose-fitting clothing. All movements can be done in a chair. No prior movement experience necessary. * Masks are required at this event. Lynn Crimando, MA, C-IA YT serves as a lead teacher and teaching mentor for YogaUOnline's Wellness Educator and Advanced Teacher Training Programs. She is a yoga teacher, board-certified Health and Wellness Coach, and C-IAYT Yoga Therapist. Her NASM certifications include Certified Personal Trainer, Senior Fitness Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Balance Training. In addition, Lynn is a Buteyko Breathing Practitioner and a mentor in Robin Rothenberg's Restore Your Prana training. She maintains a private Yoga Therapy and Health Coaching practice in New York City and teaches classes throughout the city on behalf of Health Advocates for Older People.
