We Serve Theater @ St. John's Downtown Church and Author, 2x TEDx Speaker & Transformational Leader, Glodean Champion, invite Houston residents to join the Let’s Talk About Love, Houston community event. On Saturday, February 25 from 6-8 p.m. attendees will gather together for an open conversation about love, social responsibility, and all the things that connect us to one another. FREE to the public! Joining the conversation are special guests: Host of How You Livin' Houston podcast and Owner of UENDURE Tea Company, Robin Boykin, Community Activist and Author, Lloyd Joshua Sams, Speaker and Global Educator, Coco Li Thompson, Special Counsel, Norman Nadorff, and Voter Engagement Organizer, Ethan Ganz. (NOTE: this is NOT a religious or political event) This conversation, among Houston friends and neighbors, will build shared awareness and belonging to create an inclusive and connected Houston. Come expecting to learn, dialogue, and imagine the possibilities of life without the divisiveness of race and difference getting in the way! There also will be food, fun, prizes, and an opportunity to give back to the community!! About Glodean Champion Glodean Champion is a 2x TEDx & Keynote Speaker, Author, and Transformational Leader who specializes in personal growth, leadership development, team building, and diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI). She’s a Six Sigma Black Belt and draws on her extensive background in leadership, process improvement, communication, and education to strengthen leaders and build agile teams. She is exceptionally engaging, funny and passionate, and pulls from her upbringing and the influence of her mother — her first authentic leader – to create stories that connect with her audience. Her approach to delicate subjects is with honesty, authenticity, and vulnerability, and she is a master at challenging and captivating audiences of all kinds in a way that forces them to take pause and listen from the heart, something she believes we need more of if we want to make the world a better place. About Robin Boykin Robin Boykin is an award-winning tea connoisseur and owner of UENDURE Tea Company. She also co-hosts a podcast called How You Livin' Houston - focusing on Wellness. Robin's mission to spread awareness of natural healing is evident in her many community collaborations. In 2021 Robin partnered with a woman-owned tea enterprise in Kenya to bring Purple Tea to the US masses. UENDURE Tea company has been featured in magazines and local television. In 2022 Robin won a Global 7 Award for Excellence in International Business, and two Congressional Awards. Her company was featured on Great Day Houston with Deborah Duncan, along with her private label client, Queen Cora Coleman. She enjoys speaking at local events to discuss her tea journey and continues her community collaborations. About Ethan Ganz Ethan is a Voter Engagement Organizer with Pure Justice and is a trans non-binary human, who fights for justice and equity. They have been in the Rothko Chapel Guild since 2018, and a member of Pure Justice since 2019. After losing their 2019 bid for Houston City Council District C, they co-founded the Montrose Residents Coalition. They graduated from the Pelican Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors school as a pipefitter. They also have an Associate in Arts degree from Houston Community College in the Humanities / Global Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas in Political Science & International Studies. About Norman Nadorff Special Counsel Norman Nadorff is located in Houston and reports to the Rio de Janeiro office of Tauil & Chequer in association with Mayer Brown. His practice centers on energy law and transactions and ethics law compliance. For 30 years, Norman served as in-house counsel for major oil companies with primary focus on Latin America, West Africa and Indonesia. He has been Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center since 2012 and has taught International Petroleum Agreements in several US and foreign law schools. In 2006, he played key roles in the creation of a pioneering international oil and gas master’s program at Angola’s national law school, which is now in its sixteenth year. Norman lectures frequently on petroleum law, anti-corruption laws, contract drafting and negotiations, and development of local talent. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, proficient in French, and has experience negotiating in all three languages. He is currently a Director of the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce and former Director of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators in which he is active in several capacities. About Lloyd Joshua Sams Lloyd Joshua Sams, a native Houstonian and author of The Road to Redemption: A Story about Racial Healing in America. Lloyd is a gifted linguist fluently speaks several languages and has had a diverse career in healthcare, entertainment, and education globally. Sams received his bachelor’s from The University of Texas at Dallas and earned post-grad certificates from Texas Woman’s University in Teaching, later Duke University in Healthcare Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and an Executive Master’s in Public Administration from Texas Southern University. He studied Philosophy in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and Successful Spanish in Healthcare at Rice University’s Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication. He is an accomplished musician as well as author of three books. About Coco Li Thompson Coco has been working as a Teacher Trainer for over 12 years in Global Education Group, South China Headquarters. She enjoys exchanging ideas and learning from colleagues by establishing effective teamwork as well as mutual communication. Through studying for her global teacher certificate in London with peers from around the world, Coco has enhanced her cultural awareness. Her extensive interest leads her to research how cultural differences play a significant role in our lives. Coco is a dedicated wife and mother, a passionate speaker as well as an uplifting Zumba instructor. She believes in the hope that we will eventually find the common bonds we deserve if we constantly work to do our best!
