Do you live or work in Arlington and want to help make our city a better place for the LGBTQ+ community? The HELP Center for LGBT Health and Wellness is hosting an LGBTQ+ town hall meeting Wednesday, Feb 22 with special guests, the Arlington Unity Council. The purpose is to better understand the needs, concerns and perspectives of Arlington’s LGBTQ+ community to promote greater equity, eliminate forms of discrimination and make living and working in Arlington better for the LGBTQ+ community. AGENDA HELP Center will reveal the results of their 2022 LGBTQ+ Community Health Survey and discuss what those results mean for our community. Afterwards, a moderator will pose several questions and open the floor to the attendees to share their experiences. WHO CAN ATTEND This meeting is for LGBTQ+ individuals who live and/or work in Arlington. LOCATION HELP Center for LGBT Health and Wellness - Arlington 602 E. South Street, Arlington TX 76010 DATE & TIME February 22 from 6:30 – 8PM. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS Light refreshments will be served during the meeting. Attendance is limited so please cancel your ticket if you are unable to attend. ABOUT THE UNITY COUNCIL The mission of the Unity Council is to monitor the implementation of the Unity Council Report, make additional recommendations to the City Council to promote Equity and provide at least twice yearly updates to the City’s Chief Equity Officer and the City Council. The full charge from the City Council to the Unity Council is to: Gather community input on the need to use equitable measures to build greater equality,Study equity strategies that the City could implement to promote and encourage greater equality,Report findings and recommendations to the City Council, andCreate an equity plan which includes strategies to eliminate racism and other forms of discrimination and to advance unity in Arlington.
