Description

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is working hard to address disparities among Black Americans who are diagnosed with specific types of blood cancers more prevalent among this population. During this program, attendees will learn what types of cancers members of the Black community are more likely to be diagnosed with, ways to reduce the risk of some of these cancers, what to do if you or your loved one is diagnosed, and how to access quality care. Additionally, expert speakers will identify members of the healthcare team in place to assist patients with navigating their care and ways to effectively communicate throughout the treatment journey. Participants will also learn about the resources, support and financial assistance available in their community and those provided by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Complimentary dinner will be provided.
