Hosted at Aransas Pass Community Park | 200 E. Johnson Ave., Aransas Pass, TX 78336 Community organizations in Aransas Pass are busily making preparations for the 75th Annual Shrimporee. The Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce, along with numerous other entities, non-profit organizations and volunteers are gearing-up for what is one of the most successful events of the season! Every year the Shrimporee festival has a significant impact on the community of Aransas Pass and has been known to host over 35,00 visitors in a single weekend. There are so many organizations, including the Chamber, that depend on this festival to fund programs and scholarships for the entire year. This event brings together many of our local non-profit organizations working together to support many worthwhile causes. Whether you are a sponsor, a vendor, a volunteer or a visitor … your contribution is important. A lot of hard work leading up to and during Shrimporee make this a grand event! Shrimporee Grounds will open on Friday, May19 at 6 PM and remain open until 12 PM. The Annual Shrimporee Parade starts @ 10 AM on Saturday May 20th in the downtown area with Shrimporee Grounds opening @ 12 PM and ending at 12 AM. On Sunday May 21st, Shrimporee will be open from Noon until 6 PM. The Shrimp Eating Contest, Men’s & Women’s Sexy Legs Contest, Folklorico Dancers, Mariachis, Belly Dancers, Kidz Zone, Face Painting, Magic Show, Pony Rides Arts & Crafts, Culinary Stage, Games & Carnival and the “Zoomagination” Exotic Animal Exhibit are some of the activities on site. Shrimporee has two stages loaded with something for everyone, from Country Western, Rock, 80’s and Tejano. The Whataburger Stage hosts a variety of fun, family entertainment through-out the day leading up to major entertainment at night while the HEB Main Stage hosts large headliners with a line-up of bands performing continuously from opening on Friday to closing on Sunday. Visitors can expect to enjoy a wide variety of music from up and coming, as well as local artists. Both stages will be providing continuous entertainment that should appeal to young and old alike. When it comes to shopping and dining, Shrimporee offers 80+ vendors, a large variety of food from gumbo to funnel cakes and of course SHRIMP! At least 15 non-profit groups & commercial vendors will be serving up a wide variety of delicious foods with the proceeds benefiting area projects and scholarships. The Chamber of Commerce will once again provide free air-conditioned shuttle buses from remote parking sites for the convenience of Shrimporee guests.
