The Right to Read Film is partnering with The Memphis Lift to bring the film to the Memphis community, sharing stories of both challenges and successes from one of the families featured in the film and creating a space for parents and families to learn how to identify common flags for literacy instruction and gain access to public resources in Memphis-Shelby County Schools. Screening of The Right To Read filmPanel and Q&A moderated by NAACP President Van Turner and panelist Kareem Weaver, The Adams-Staples family, TN Commissioner of Education Dr. Penny Schwinn, Sam O'Bryant, MPA Executive Director of Literacy Mid-South, Dr. Sharon Roberts Chief K-12 Impact Officer of State Collaborative on Reforming Education(SCORE) and Dr. Kristi Baker Patterson Director of Curriculum + Instruction for ALL MemphisParent Resource Fair with giveaways and information from Literacy Mid-South, ALL Memphis, Reading 360, SCORE and more to be announced!More Special guest appearances to be announcedChild care will be provide on site for children between the ages of 3 - 12.
