What to Expect - a one of a kind experience!Native Nations Fashion Night & Fashion Week MN are collaborating to bring a celebration of indigenous creative expression through fashion, designed to elevate and inspire the human spirit & connect across cultures Golga Oscar, Kasigluk Elders Traditional Council - Yup'ik Nation, is coming to Minneapolis on a 14-hour flight to share with us his version of creativity. Carrying on the traditions of his people, Golga is creating apparel that is more than just a fashion statement, it's "a way of life." Garret Henry, Anishinaabe from Roseau River 1st Nation, Manitoba, Canada will be showcasing a new Native couture collection as an expansion of his traditional designs with a contemporary twice Native dance outfits, for which he is widely sought out. Delina White of IamAnishinaabe, MN Chippewa Tribe, Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, is the nearest to the Twin Cities (250 miles north), will be introducing the Deer River High School ISD 317, Anishinaabe Education Leadership Group, "Anishinaabe Giikinooamaadi'wigamigoong," and their fashion designs as an advanced guided project sponsored by the Blandin Foundation. With a marketplace twice the size from last year's event, Native Artisans & natural ingredients beauty products, originally designed fashion, jewelry & accessories will be located throughout the venue. LIVE DJWilliam McKenzie, Red Lake Nation, of Divewire @Divewirestudios.com, will be providing an exciting & chill atmosphere as we listen and dance to music from all genres!
