We are excited to host a day of rest, relaxation, creativity and deep meaningful connections for YOU in this one day retreat located in Saint Pete Beach, FL. More about Jessica and Amanda's professional background and expertise: Jessica Spackman is a Registered Dietitian and 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Having gone through her own transition to a more wholistic lifestyle, she knows first hand what it is like to connect back to the body. After seeing the impact diet and lifestyle had on herself, she became a Registered Dietitian (RDN) and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). She currently has her own telehealth nutrition consultation practice. Her approach to health and wellness is quite different from other dietitians and healthcare professionals. Whereas most people focus on limiting calories and exercise to maintain a healthy weight, she utilizes mindful and intuitive eating skills to connect you back to your body. Her practice utilizes both medical nutrition therapy and mindful techniques to enhance the health and well-being of others. Amanda Shaw is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC) with the State of Florida and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board Inc. She received her Bachelors degree in psychology, with a minor in studio art at the University of Central Florida in 2014. Realizing her passion for art and healing, she obtained her master's degree in Art Therapy at the George Washington University in 2019. Amanda currently own's a private practice Create Flow Heal Art Therapy & Counseling LLC in St. Petersburg, where she provides art psychotherapy for clients suffering from depression, anxiety, mood disorders and other mental health concerns. Being an artist at heart, Amanda loves to paint portraits in her spare time and uses the arts to help foster a mind-body connection. In addition to her work in art psychotherapy, she is a Reiki II healer who is versed in crystal bowl sound healing. Amanda incorporates mindfulness, somatic movement and theraputic arts into her practice as a therapists and retreat host. BENEFITS OF YOGA AND MEDITATIONYoga’s incorporation of meditation and breathing can help improve a person’s mental well-being. Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness; increases body awareness; relieves chronic stress patterns; relaxes the mind; centers attention; and sharpens concentration. Body and self-awareness are particularly beneficial because they can help with early detection of physical problems and allow for early preventive action. The purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body. During this mini retreat you will be guided through an all levels gentle vinyassa flow. This flow is designed to connect breath with movement in order to reach new levels of strength, power, flexibility, and peace in poses. THERAPEUTIC ARTLet's get creative! During the art making process, you will be guided to express yourself through a painting exercise. We will focus on the PROCESS of creativiy rather than the PRODUCT of creativity. This means, you will have an opportunity to embrace imperfection and practice acceptance of self. No artistic skill is necessary. Benifits of art making include increased self-esteem and personal insight, along with feelings of acomplishment, relaxation and practicing mindfulness. SOUND MEDITATION & CACAOOften times, it can be challenging to sit or lay in stillness. Incorporating the vibration and sound of crystal sing bowls allows many to deepen their state of relaxation. Cacao is chocolate in its purest form. You will be offered a warm, nutritious, chocolate drink called Cacao. Many people find cacao provides a warm, heart opening affect to their physical being which aids in deepening their state of relaxation. With both sound and cacao, we hope to take you on a journey fill with peace and tranquility. Closing Statement Amanda and Jessica have developed this retreat with careful design and intention to foster an atmosphere of love, compassion and relaxation just for YOU. We hope to leave you with an experience that will brighten you life and soothe your soul. Give yourself the gift of healing, you deserve it! Namaste, Amanda and Jessica
