Adira Inc. was founded in October 2022 by Tykisha Tull, a Federal Government employee, and Licensed Social Worker who wanted to provide a resource and support to young ladies, ages 16-23. Adira is excited to announce its first young ladies' summit for ages 16-23, free of charge to young ladies in this age group. This year's theme is "Fixing Our Crowns." This summit will place an emphasis on mental health awareness and suicide prevention. This year we are excited to have our Guest Speaker, Dr. Shenetta Malkia from the D.C. metropolitan area. Dr. Malkia is widely known throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. She is a leading clinician and founder and executive director of Empowerment Essence, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating bullying and suicide beginning in Maryland and DC communities. Dr. Malkia, advocates in the field of mental health and suicide prevention. She was the keynote speaker for Maryland’s 26th Annual Suicide Prevention Conference and has addressed audiences both nationally and internationally. As a survivor of bullying and suicide, she’s passionate about her purpose in life, bringing awareness to mental health and suicide. She has also held the titles of Ms. Baltimore United States, Ms. Maryland, and Ms. Congeniality. Dr. Malkia has empowered thousands of lives and she is far from done. We will share her complete biography at our event. There will be other guest speakers and surprises. You do not want to miss this event. Registration will be for the first 75 young ladies ages 16-23 and again is FREE. Lunch will be served to all registered guests. All ladies are welcome. If you are outside of the specified age group, please still complete a registration form on Eventbrite for capacity purposes. There will be a $20.00 charge if you are outside of the ages 16-23.
