  St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures. While the holiday that is held on the day of his death bears his name—his life remains somewhat of a mystery.   Blue was the color of the Roman Catholic feast for the patron saint of Ireland, it was changed to green in honor of the great Irish Rebellion.  The British used the color red so the Irish chose the color green.  The rest of the cultural observances for Saint Patrick Day were developed through the centuries including the change of color from blue to green.  The holiday was an Irish favorite because the celebration  happened during the observance of Lent, giving the Irish a day to break Lent for feasting and drinking.    Paint this beautiful picture!   Just think how it will look - like a masterpiece on your living room wall,   Why not grab a snack here at Landing 13, a drink and a paint brush and join us in painting with step by step instructions, and all materials supplied.
