In the personal and inspiring stories of four patients urgently searching for answers to mysterious symptoms, Below the Belt aims to revolutionize the status quo so that women with endometriosis are empowered to get the health care they need to live healthy, informed, fulfilling lives. Through the lens of endometriosis, a disease that affects 1 in 9 people who menstruate, the film shows how patients have often been dismissed, discounted and disbelieved. From societal taboos to gender bias, the film reveals how millions have been effectively silenced in their struggles with the painful disorder.
Following the screening, members of our multidisciplinary pain team will participate in a panel discussion and answer your questions about endometriosis, other pelvic pain-related conditions and the minimally invasive treatment options available to help you reclaim your life.
Seating is limited, registration required. Register by Saturday, March 18.
In addition to the March 22 event at Zoetropolis, another screening will be held at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg on Tuesday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. To learn more or to share with a friend, click here.
