Learn the basics of fine jewelry making while you make a sterling silver textured ring. In this 3 hour class, students will learn to: Cut and shape silver into a ringUse stamping tools to engrave and texture metalSquare joints for solderingUse a torch to anneal metalSolder a silver joint (through observation)Polish jewelryApply patina to silverThis class is beginner focused and participants are not expected to have prior knowledge of jewelry making.  The course is open to participants age 16 and over. (Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is also participating in the class.) Please wear work boots or shoes made from leather or canvas (no nylon, it melts!). Wear natural fiber clothing (cotton is best). Safety glasses are required and will be provided, but if you have a pair you're comfortable in, consider bringing your own. Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
