The United Filipino Club of Seattle University Presents: Barrio Fiesta XXIXMadaig sa Paglago: "To Overcome with Growth"The United Filipino Club of Seattle University is excited to be hosting our 29th Annual Barrio Fiesta on March 4th, 2023, in Campion Ballroom! As we approach this milestone in our club's history, we honor and celebrate the accomplishments of those who have brought us to this point today as well as show resilience for the future years to come. Through this year's theme, “Madaig sa Paglago: To Overcome with Growth”, we aim to aim to present you a glimpse of home and highlight the importance of our roots and our pride as Filipinx people and we want to emphasize the importance of embracing your identity. Through this, we want to showcase how perspective can influence our thoughts, and why friendship can guide us through our hard times. This year’s skit will be an adventure with Matt and his friends Mika and Peter as he returns back to his childhood home in the Philippines after growing up in the states and distancing himself from his culture. Moving back home shows him the Filipino culture from a new perspective. He learns a thing or two, and maybe even some moves? We hope that this year's Barrio can remind our audience the impact of our words, and how valuable our culture is. We are excited to celebrate with you our 29 years of Barrio Fiesta, the annual cultural showcase of delicious Filipino cuisine, modern and traditional dance, skit, and more!
