Come learn the basics to Japanese sword skills in an interactive and open environment led by an instructor ranked at 3 Dan in both Kendo and Iaido who has been training in these arts for 20+ years. Kendo is the art of using using a bamboo sword and armor to practice physical interactive fighting both attack and defense against a similarly armed opponent. Iaido is the art of using a real sword to learn the movement strikes and forms (kata) to perfect one's movement though traditional techniques utilizing an actual blade. Together these two sword arts combined are the traditional training for samurai. Combining interactive fighting and training with the precision technique and tactics of utilizing a Katana. This is an eight week course that meets every Friday from 6:30 - 8:30 PM starting January 27th 2023.
