The Illini Swing Society is thrilled to bring a Balboa Workshop to Urbana-Champaign! This 1-day Workshop will feature classes with our guest instructor, Desiree Roffers, who is teaching with our own Ann Sychterz! Plus a free evening social dance to follow with our guest DJ, Sam Zorich at Hamilton Walker's in Downtown Champaign. Balboa is a partner swing dance which first began in LA (in Southern California), gaining in popularity in the 1930s/1940s. We are excited to bring this to our scene! Classes will be held in the Illini Union, in Illini Room B, on the first floor of the building. Class 1 and 2, will be introductory level classes: if you have never danced Balboa before, or not in a long time, these classes are for you. Class 3 will be an all level class. If you have done some Balboa previously or if you are taking taken class 1 and 2 this class will be perfect for you. Class 1: 1:30pm-2:30 pm Class 2: 2:45pm-3:45 pm Class 4:00 pm-5:00 pm
