Updated Teams can be found pinned at the top of the Hoover-Ball Facebook Page! Every participant will be given a t-shirt and winners will be awarded individual trophies. Registration will open in June and closes at Noon. on Friday, Aug 4, 2022. Teams are co-ed and divisions are not split up by gender. There are now three youth divisions and the break-down is as follows: Division I – students entering grades 4 and 5 (4-6 players per team) Division II – students entering grades 6 and 7 (4-6 players per team) Division III – students entering grades 8 and 9 (3-6 players per team) Youth Hoover-Ball is Free with a Donation. Donations are not defined - any amount is appreciated! 100% of the proceeds go back into the community to provide Free Family Fun through Whitney's Wings, a local nonprofit based out of West Branch. Whitney's Wings is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and your donation is tax-deductible. Youth Hoover-Ball in the Parade NEW THIS YEAR! Youth Hoover-Ball players can walk in the Parade on Saturday, August 5! The parade starts at 10am and we will email you with the meet up location. Players will need to arrive by 9:30am. We will supply mini Hoover-Balls to hand out but please supply a large bag of candy for your player. Teams can wear the Hoover-Ball shirts they receive or their own team shirts. Youth Hoover-Ball Camp Youth Hoover-Ball Camp is a free and fun way to build skills, learn the rules, and practice before the big game. Registration for camp and the tournament are all part of the same form – one and done! To keep camp fun, please sign up for the appropriate age group on the registration form. Div. I camp will be Weds, July 19 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Hoover-Ball courts near 318 Main Street. The rain date will be Weds, July 26. Div. II camp will be Thurs, July 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Hoover-Ball courts near 318 Main Street. The rain date will be Thurs, July 27. There is no camp for Div. III players. We will have shirts available for purchase on game day for $25 while supplies last. Waiver I know that Hoover-Ball is a very strenuous and potentially hazardous activity. I realize that my child should not enter and participate unless they are medically and physically able to play. Knowing this, I certify that to the best of my knowledge, my child is in excellent physical condition and has no medical condition that could likely worsen by participation in the event. Furthermore, I certify that they understand the rules of the game and agree to abide by any decision made by a Youth Hoover-Ball official concerning their participation in the event. I am fully aware and assume all risks associated with my child’s participation in this event, including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effect of weather, including extreme cold or heat, humidity, wind, snow, rain, ice, or conditions on the court. I am also fully aware that I am solely responsible for my child’s safety while traveling to and from all events associated with Youth Hoover-Ball. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of you accepting this entry, I, as parent or legal guardian of this participant, waive and release Whitney’s Wings, Hoover Presidential Foundation, The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum and Hoover National Historic Site, the City of West Branch in which the tournament is conducted, the tournament coordinators, and all sponsors, tournament officials, volunteers, their representatives, successors or assignees for any and all claims or liability for death or damages for all injuries to my child or my property arising out of or in connection with this event, including without limitation, claims or liabilities resulting from those matters described in the preceding paragraphs. This waiver extends to all claims of any kind or nature, whether foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown. Furthermore, I grant permission to all foregoing organizations and entities to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for legitimate purposes. In addition, by selecting I agree in the registration form, it verifies that I have read and agree to the terms stated above. I understand that there is no fee to participate in the Youth Hoover-Ball Camp or Youth Hoover-Ball Tournament. This waiver is valid for both the 2022 Youth Hoover-Ball Camp and the 2022 Youth Hoover-Ball Tournament.
