This is a WET hike! That’s right, we are going to hike right down the middle of West Creek and explore nature from the river’s point of view. Rock, Trees, and Bugs, Oh My! We will talk about geology and biology along the way. West Creek Conservancy in Partnership with Cleveland Metroparks has worked hard to protect, restore, and connect riparian green spaces, incrementally connecting them over time, to create West Creek Reservation as we see it today. Along the hike we will talk about the dynamics of stream flow and the need to restore and protect these important blue-green corridors.
This hike is a total of six (6) miles. It will leave from the Watershed Stewardship Center and head south for three (3) miles to the offices of West Creek Conservancy where we will have a bathroom and snack break. And then back to the Stewardship Center. It will be over moderate to rough terrain (riverbeds and waterfalls), and waterproof rubber knee-high boots or sturdy tennis shoes that can get wet are recommended.
Location:
Meet at the Watershed Stewardship Center on the West Creek Reservation.
