Build: Planter Box (ages 5-8)

In this workshop, participants will learn how to safely use drills and mallets to create a cute square wood planter box that will be assembled using dowels. After the boxes are built and decorated, participants will fill their planter boxes with soil and plant chamomile seeds that they will be able to enjoy watching in their planters at home. NOTE: This class is for Beanlandia members. If you are not a Beanlandia member but would like to take this workshop, you can sign up for a Beanlandia membership here. About the Instructor My name is Ben Dendy and I am excited to be one of the instructors at Community Workshop NOLA. I have participated in many woodworking projects since I was a little kid. I would help my dad make things and he taught me how to properly use different wood working tools safely. Since then I have developed my skills by completing my own projects. While woodworking was a hobby for me most of my life, I have almost always worked in the construction industry since graduating college with a degree in construction management. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach people the skills to make beautiful and useful objects out of wood.
