The Marian Shrine Spring Gala and Animas Awards annually honors leaders and organizations who have extended themselves in service and dedication to the young, the poor, and the needs of the community. In this way exemplifying the vision and spirit of St. John Bosco, the founder of the Salesian priests and Brothers, who sought to use his gifts and talents to better lives. The ANIMAS Award is named after Don Bosco’s motto in Latin “Da Mihi Animas” (Give me SOULS) and our 2023 Honorees: Kevin Lynch, Jeannie Nicolakis and Howard Phillips have provided “Soul” to the young, the poor and the community by generously sharing their gifts, talents, spirit and joy. They are the “unsung heroes” and we are proud to recognize them and hope that others will follow their wonderful example.
