In this guided workshop (additional classes available at artivismdance.com), participants will use movement-based practices to develop somatic awareness. Through the course of this workshop, movers will learn and practice mind-body connections, grounding techniques, breath work, and internal and external awareness which have been shown to improve mood, sleep, and self-esteem, as well as reduce depression and anxiety for Autistic individuals and those with related conditions such as ADHD. This workshop is accessible for neurodivergent people and inclusive for all. Instructors have been trained in sensory-friendly practices, as well as neurodivergent accommodations and accessibility. Participants are free to bring their own ear plugs and other assistive devices.
