For the last 6 years, ADRI.V has celebrated her birthday by celebrating Fellow women who are true Go Gettas. On Friday, March 22, 2023, Buffalo is back at it again as ADRI. V the Go Getta hosts her 6th Annual Go Getta Mix & Mingle. The perfect Celebration of Women’s History Month, ADRI.V will honor and recognize her 2023 Talented Ten. Each year ADRI. V chooses ten local trailblazing women who are making history right here in Western New York and possess the “Go Getta Spirit”. Not only is it a birthday celebration for ADRI.V The Go Getta but we are saluting the Talented Ten! What is the Talented Ten you ask? The Talented Tenth is a term that designated a leadership class of African Americans in the early 20th century. The term was created by Northern philanthropists, then publicized by W. E. B. Du Bois in an influential essay of the same name, which he published in September 1903. It appeared in The Negro Problem, a collection of essays written by leading African Americans. ADRI.V decided to take the term to the 21st century and call it “ The Talented Ten” a class of leaders, Ten Go Getta G.I.R.L.S (Gifted Intelligent Relentless Leader’S) who are making things happen against the odds, blazing their own trail, not giving up and turning a dream into reality, all the while encouraging others to do the same. Not only is this a celebration but a fundraiser where all proceeds will support The Go Getta Scholarship 2023.
