Introducing the first ever Honor the Earth: Water Is Life Southwest Music + Resistance Festival, a celebration of Indigenous art, music, culture & resistance in the American Southwest. Featuring an unprecedented coalition of Native artists, allies, activists & speakers for a one-day event in the heart of the Sonoran Desert in Tucson, AZ, Water is Life Southwest is a relationship-building solidarity festival between Indigenous organizers of the Sonoran border region and Winona LaDuke's Honor the Earth, the nation's largest Indigenous environmental non-profit. Proceeds will go to funding Indigenous land back, sovereignty, food & water initiatives by Indigenous People in Arizona, and local sponsors include KXCI community radio and Southwest Folklife Alliance.
Featuring performances by Keith Secola, Papago Warrior, Rebel Diaz, XIXA (acoustic), David Huckfelt, Giant Sand, Gary Farmer, Djentrification, One Way Sky, Cihuatl Ce, Humblelianess, DJ Q, Lady Gugu. Local & indigenous food vendors, environmental organizations, and a regional artist village will also be on site @ MSA Annex for this one-day event.
