A modernist Book Box for Mid-Century Modern Scottsdale Garden Apartment District (SGAD) has arrived at 70th St. and Goldwater in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona. To celebrate the occasion, Scottsdale Public Libraries Books2Go will host a ribbon cutting ceremony with Book Box designer, architect Ned Sawyer and sculptor Gary Slater, on Wednesday, March 1 at 9:00 AM. The event opens in the Community Room at Scottsdale Embassy Townhouse Condominiums at 8:30 AM with coffee and breakfast pastries by Chadwick’s Urban Market. Following the ribbon cutting, guests are invited to join Scottsdale Historic Preservation Commission’s Ben Brosseau for a 20 minute guided tour of the neighborhoods rare cluster of historic “post and beam” garden apartments. Scottsdale Embassy Townhouse Condominiums is located at 6944 E 3rd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251, and the Community Room is next to the swimming pool at the end of the cul de sac.
