Basic Wilderness First Aid is an one day course that prepares you to recognize and mitigate wilderness hazards. Wilderness first aid isn’t only applicable to spaces like The Boundary Waters or other remote wilderness settings, It’s valuable in any low resource emergency situation; exploring Wirth, trekking along The Banks of The Mississippi River, or an uprising. You will be issued a certification card at the end of the day.
Come learn how to assess biological and environmental hazards, wilderness wound care and care for bone and joint injuries. This while this space is dedicated to diversifying the outdoors all are welcome; Allys please consider purchasing a ticket for someone who would love to attend but may not have the financial means to do so.
The biggest flex about this training is that not only will you walk away with knowledge and confidence to engage in the outdoors, you’ll also meet some dope hiking or paddling buddies. Open to Ages 16-99.

Organized by Devin "Afrodiskayak" Brown, Planning on being the first black woman to source to sea The Mississippi River in May 2024. In the mean time she's been planning events all winter to help bolster the wilderness/outdoor knowledge in her community.
